OneAM feat. Blastique @ Ambar - 11th July

June 13, 2008 12:51 am

Just in from the people at Foreshadows (Perth, Australia):

As we roll into a new financial year, the OneAM show rolls into Ambar for their first appearance in Perths favorite basement.

Spearheading the lineup will be Producer/DJ – BLASTIQUE, flying in from Malaysia for an exclusive 2 hour live set.

Classically trained in music, he has spent the past 7 years perfecting his electronic music production skills. Today, a degree-wielding Sonic Artist, Blastique laces his sound with scalpel-like precision, technical mastery, and an unrelenting attitude that refuses to be pigeon holed.

With a string of solo releases on UK labels such as Silo Recordings and Electrofly Records, has also teamed up with producers Nutek and Glen Tandy to form Nu-Tandique. Their first release, a remix of The Radiators’ “Gimme Head” has featured on MOS Summer Session Vol. 5

Blastique performs live, and integrates his arsenal of MIDI gear & Ableton together with some tight programming, resulting in a sound that can be described as progressively melodic-techy-tribal n’ breaky.

For support duties we have assembled a talented and diverse local lineup. Ex Nyquist Freq and turntable master, Angry Buda performs with MC Rami. Perth Breakbeat queen, of Sista Massive fame; Missile and up and coming breaks duo; the Nightcrawlaz join the OneAM Residents to round off the party.

Hosted by MC Amani

So dust off your two tone leather dancing shoes and get your trendsetting buts down to Ambar on the 11th July as OneAM takes things up a notch.

Entry $15 on the door.

More about it:

Pecha Kucha (pronounced peh-chak-cha) was started in Tokyo, Japan in 2003 by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham Architecture. Presenters will give a slideshow of 20 images, each shown for only 20 seconds - giving a total presentation time of 6 minutes 40 seconds.

The result is a high-energy creative showcase where creative people talk about…creative things! Or some say ‘a happy crossbreed between an elevator pitch and a slide show’.

The brief the presenters are given is no brief! They can talk about any subject of choice, as long as they keep to the time and format. With an audience made up mostly from the creative and design fields, Pecha Kucha Nights are great networking experiences, only more fun. There will be music and beer on hand and simulating conversations to boot! So see you there.

Also, British Council is hosting their third Pecha Kucha Night, bringing together creative minds to talk about equally creative things. Blastique will be spinning and there will be presentations by people like Munkao, Pop Malaya, Creative United Movement, Ridwan Kamil and Simon Keogh. Chekkitout. Definitely something to do and see on a Saturday night.

Server Outage

1:28 pm

Dear all,

Apologies for the outage that happened a couple of days ago. There was a billing issue and my account got temporarily suspended as a result! This unfortunately also took my email addresses off the map. However, everything is back to normal once again.

A new mix is also being uploaded as I type this… :)

Silo Recordings (UK) News Update

March 3, 2008 7:23 pm

FANTASTIC official news from good mate and label honcho Mikey, in this press release…

It’s now been 16 long months since the last Silo release hit the shelves worldwide – Blastique’s tech-funk monster ‘Do It Like Rabbits’ & Hydraphobe’s pounding ‘Rukus’. After getting massive reviews in the press and the attention of DJ’s including Annie Nightingale, Hook & Sling, Aquasky, The Breakfastaz, Hybrid, Vandal, and more, it all went very quiet on the Silo front. Well, we might have been gone, but we were far from dead…

Silo is coming back in ‘08 bigger, better, and badder than ever with a revitalised new design and direction, massive fresh cuts, and some positively explosive remixes from some of the hottest producers of the moment.

http://www.silorecordings.com/silorecordings.com%20mk1%20images/SiloArtistsFeb08Banner.jpg

First in line we’ve got a floor shredding set of remixes, each set to punch your eardrums straight out of your skull. Pioneering electro party duo Deepgroove are currently giving Blastique’s ’Do It Like Rabbits’ a dirty rave rub down, while the formidable Dilemn has just turned in an a stupidly firing take on Far Too Loud’s ‘Screamer’. On the new-cuts side, Dilemn has also taken the lead with a pair of tunes so immensely huge they’re probably what the Cloverfield monster has on his iPod. Have we got your attention yet? Good… that’s just for starters. Negotiations and decisions are ongoing with a host of other top class producers of genre smashing breaks and electro for other upfront tunes and remixes. Expect more news soon on tracks including another Far Too Loud remix, remixes of Hydraphobe, and a remix of Cybass’ unreleased ‘Shake It’.

………..SWEET!

See you all on Friday @ RAW for more Blastique ‘n Cliq goodness… If you haven’t already done so, sign up on my Facebook Artist Page as a fan (just so that I can get information delivered straight to you with eeeeeeeeeeeeez!) heehee
