Blastique - Do It Like Rabbits (Deepgroove Remix)

blastique | September 8, 2008 11:06 am

Artist: Blastique
Title: Do It Like Rabbits (Deepgroove Remix)
Label: SILO
Release date: Sept 08

Image

“From the first to the last release on Silo… classically trained sonic alchemist Reuben Samuel, aka Blastique, cut a groove out for himself with the original release of ‘Rabbits back in November ‘06. A hot mixture of progressive vibes and rolling tech-funk, DJ’s championing it included Hybrid (”playing it more and more!… Love it!”) and Nick Thayer (”the kind of relentless rolling tech-funk that I really dig”).

This time around it’s all twisted bleeps, squeaks, and wobbly bass as we get a nasty tech-house turn-in courtesy of pioneering duo Deepgroove (Underwater / Slave / Klang Elektronik). As druggy as they come, it’s all squelching basslines and sharp percussive edits set around a massively infectious groove. One for darkened rooms and big systems.”

Silo Recordings (UK) News Update

blastique | March 3, 2008 7:23 pm

FANTASTIC official news from good mate and label honcho Mikey, in this press release…

It’s now been 16 long months since the last Silo release hit the shelves worldwide – Blastique’s tech-funk monster ‘Do It Like Rabbits’ & Hydraphobe’s pounding ‘Rukus’. After getting massive reviews in the press and the attention of DJ’s including Annie Nightingale, Hook & Sling, Aquasky, The Breakfastaz, Hybrid, Vandal, and more, it all went very quiet on the Silo front. Well, we might have been gone, but we were far from dead…

Silo is coming back in ‘08 bigger, better, and badder than ever with a revitalised new design and direction, massive fresh cuts, and some positively explosive remixes from some of the hottest producers of the moment.

http://www.silorecordings.com/silorecordings.com%20mk1%20images/SiloArtistsFeb08Banner.jpg

First in line we’ve got a floor shredding set of remixes, each set to punch your eardrums straight out of your skull. Pioneering electro party duo Deepgroove are currently giving Blastique’s ’Do It Like Rabbits’ a dirty rave rub down, while the formidable Dilemn has just turned in an a stupidly firing take on Far Too Loud’s ‘Screamer’. On the new-cuts side, Dilemn has also taken the lead with a pair of tunes so immensely huge they’re probably what the Cloverfield monster has on his iPod. Have we got your attention yet? Good… that’s just for starters. Negotiations and decisions are ongoing with a host of other top class producers of genre smashing breaks and electro for other upfront tunes and remixes. Expect more news soon on tracks including another Far Too Loud remix, remixes of Hydraphobe, and a remix of Cybass’ unreleased ‘Shake It’.

………..SWEET!

See you all on Friday @ RAW for more Blastique ‘n Cliq goodness… If you haven’t already done so, sign up on my Facebook Artist Page as a fan (just so that I can get information delivered straight to you with eeeeeeeeeeeeez!) heehee

A Special RAW Friday Night

blastique | February 28, 2008 2:11 pm

This Friday, I’ll be throwing it down at RAW, Soho KL, once again from 10:30pm till late. There is an interesting addition however…

DJ Cliq

I have nothing short of the utmost respect for this turntablist. He’s got skills with soul and I can’t say that goes for too many deck instrumentalists out there, who are more concerned about how fast they can crab and transform than actually getting musical with the sample at hand.

Anyhow, be sure to come check him out as we go head to head!

If you are on Facebook, head through this link to RSVP! Also, be sure to add yourself up as a “fan” (haha) on my Facebook Artist Page so that I can easily keep you up to date on gigs!

Till Friday… :)

RAW / Murmur, SOHO KL, Mont Kiara Solaris

blastique | January 27, 2008 2:28 pm

The place is ready at last! :D and my first official Friday kicks off on the 1st of February.

Party time indeedy.

2008 Updates / Residency

blastique | January 8, 2008 6:17 pm

Happy New Year! 2007 was huge, and I’ve got nothing but solid vibes for 2008!

Many thanks to my very close family, friends and industry peeps who were so supportive (understatement of the year!), and of course God, both with B4C’s endeavors as well as my own.

2007 had a coupla hiccups, nevertheless, lessons learned, January is kicking off with a big juicy LFO! Solaris, Mont Kiara is set to be the next best bar/club strip to hit KL, and yours truly will be starting a residency at a location to be announced later this week! Expect out-of-this world cocktails, quality breakbeat and electro, and a very desirable closing time.

B4C will be evolving to the next level of live performance this year - I’d give details but that’d spoil a bit of the fun for the next show wouldn’t it!? Furthermore, Blastique/Hydraphobe (IV + Blastique)’s release on Silo Recording will be getting remix duties by a secret gem - More details on that soon (Don’t you just love minuscule suspense-generation?)

Stay tuned, and once again, thanks for reading :)
